A national MP representing Maridi in Western Equatoria state has called the Assembly to remove the General Education Minister and cancel the first secondary examinations due to irregularities.

Peter Bashir Gbandi commented that the national examination was organized in an unprofessional way.

He added the General Education Minister should be removed from his office.

Mr Bashir said the South Sudan examinations should be cancelled because they were photocopied in the markets and not printed.

He added that some papers were leaked when a covey transporting the exams to Torit was attacked by armed people.

The MP accused the minister of general education of destroying the country’s general and higher education.

The MP said he was going to table a motion to remove the general education minister.
