MINISTER CALLS FOR NEW ANTI-MALARIA STRATEGIES

The National Minister of Health called for new strategies to fight the endemic during the celebrations of International Malaria Day in Juba.

Michael Milly Hussein said the government and the international partners should spray chemicals to fight mosquito instead of depending only on treated mosquito nets to fight the disease, Bakhita Radio reported.

He urged government partners to revisit the strategies to fight malaria.

World Health Organization or WHO Head of office Abdi Aden Mohamed announced that his organization will provide 1.8 billion doses of anti malaria drugs across South Sudan.

He added that WHO will continue to work together with partners and states and national government to control malaria in the country.
