She expressed worries that Kapoeta will be disconnected and cut off from Torit when rains increase.

Eastern Equatoria State Transport and Roads Minister, Charles Lokonoi Ambrose said Torit-Juba, Torit-Kapoeta, Hiyala-Tseretenya, and Kapoeta-Nadapal roads were in bad shape as rainy season starts.

He said Kudo Bridge between Torit and Lirya, Loyahali between Buno and Korjip along Kapoeta-Narus highway have become difficult to use as they have developed multiple potholes.

The Minister appealed for swift attention and action from the national government to intervene as all the highways are in dangerous condition.

He said if there is no appropriate concentration from relevant authorities, Torit would be detached from Juba and other Eastern Equatoria State Counties.
