A Brazilian Paramundo NGO consultant on Monday said introducing sexual and gender-based violence curriculum in schools is key to prevent the problem.
Veronica Eragu Bichetero told CRN that the preventing sexual based violence in South Sudan needs education and the ills of this phenomenon.She said the issue is being approached in a responsive manner, and that there is need to focus on prevention and protection.
Ms Eragu added that there is no way people can eradicate sexual and gender-based violence, calling on the government and partners to provide guidance to victims.
She said the government should set up laws that are reformative other than punitive ones.
The consultant was speaking to CRN in Juba in a three-day training workshop for engaging men on eradication of sexual and gender-based violence.
