The SPLM Deputy Secretary General arrived on Thursday on Torit to visit her home state after an absence of two years.
Ann Itto said she visited Greater Mundri in February and March to learn about developments and challenges in the area, Radio Emmanuel reported.She said it was important for SPLM officials working in the general offices in Juba to see what were the aspirations and difficulties of local communities.
Dr Itto explained that she wanted to assess achievements of the state government and SPLM state secretariat in Eastern Equatoria.
She said she wanted also to verify the results of an opinion poll carried by the State SPLM secretariat on the performance of the party, demands of the people and challenges and see what steps were taken.
Dr Itto toured the SPLM state Secretariat office building and guest house in Torit during her visit.
She is expected to visit the three Kapoeta counties.
