Human rights violations and arbitrary arrests are rampant in South Sudan.
Juba Monitor chief Editor Alfred Taban told journalists in a training workshop on Human Rights that they should be trained on the rampant human rights violations in the country so that they can report some of the cases, Bakhita Radio reported.Mr Taban added that human rights are not understood in South Sudan and there is need to sensitize the citizens about their rights.
He explained that some citizens might go without food because some government officials violated their rights for food.
Mr Taban said the Government was also participating in violating some of the rights.
He contested that the Government should protect people who are not proven guilty and protect the rights of individuals.
