Central Equatoria State Association of Physical Disabled or ESAD on Tuesday brought together its members to discuss the UN convention for the rights of persons with disability.

Acting chairperson Sebit Khabli Ezibon told Bakhita Radio that the executive committee decided to pick the topics to understand disability and the rights because most of its members do not know what they are and what they are entitled.

He said a person with disabilities must understand his or her meaning and make sure that he or she campaigns for his or her rights to be delivered.

Mr Khabli explained that the Government of South Sudan did not sign the UN convention for the rights of persons with disability and when it advertizes jobs it discriminates by demanding fit candidates.

Mr Khabli urged the community and the government to respect persons with disability as they are part and parcel of the community.

He also called on the government to treat all citizens equally when it comes to employment opportunities with fitness conditions.

Bakhita Radio funded the one-day workshop.
