The counting process started yesterday, is progressing with some delays in Southern Sudan.
Jersa Kide Barsaba, spokesperson of the Southern Sudan High Elections Committee, told SCR News that some polling stations have already finished, but others are still sorting and counting the ballots.Ms. Kide explained that these elections were very complicated: each voter had to cast 12 ballots making the sorting and counting a long process.
Ms Kide appealed for calm, considering that in each polling station there are agents of the parties and the candidates.
She added that if agents signed Form Number 9D, which is the official form to present the elections results of each polling station, it means they accepted the results.
This afternoon the Southern Sudan High Committee had to postpone a press conference, while waiting for more information from the ten States High Commiittees.
