The Principal of Loreto Girls Secondary School in Rumbek is appealing to NGOs and people of goodwill to sponsor the university studies of girls who successfully completed high school.

Orla Treacy said on Sunday during a ceremony to congratulate the 2012 South Sudan Certificate candidates that Loreto School is able to educate girls at primary and secondary level but lacks funds to support girl’s education at university.

She said the ten girls who sat for the exams performed very well.

She appealed for assistance from organizations and individuals committed to girl child education.

Sr Orla said most Loreto girls passed with high grades and Mary Nyidhuor Majak was the third best girl in the country.

She added that Mary Nyanajiek Manyang, the only science student, also performed well and she dreams to study civil engineering at university.

Loreto School is growing into an academic giant in Lakes State producing in 2011 the second best student and top girl in the South Sudan first ever National examinations.
