World Vision last week started a survey on malnutrition, water and sanitation and tetanus in Tonj South County and found that the area needs more water points and clinics to attend to the local needs.
Rual Deng Malek, the Nutrition acting coordinator, told Don Bosco Radio that the survey targeted mothers and children under five year of age.He said the people in some areas did not have access to clean water and were suffering from waterborne diseases.
Agustino Marial Madut, the nutrition and education health supervisor, said there are 13 health centres in the area.
He noted that health facilities were not enough and mother could not walk great distances to get treatment.
The two officials asked the Government and NGOs to help locals lacking health facilities and clean water.
