The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union congratulated the presidents of South Sudan and Sudan for their fruitful summit meeting in Juba on Friday.
Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said in a statement that the Juba presidential summit was a further demonstration that Salva Kiir Mayardit and Omart Al Bashir were committed to foster the normalization of relations between the two countries and promote the wellbeing of their peoples.Dr Dlamini-Zuma welcomed the will of the two Presidents to resolve the issue of Abyei.
She also hailed the decision to establish a High Ministerial Joint Committee, chaired by the two Vice Presidents of both countries, to facilitate speedy decision-making regarding the enhancement of relations between the two countries.
