KIIR FIRES DEPUTY FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER, ORDERS ENQUIRE

The President of the Republic on Friday fired the Deputy Minister for International Cooperation at the Foreign Affairs Ministry and ordered an enquire to the break-in at the President’s Office last March.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit issued a decree removing Professor Elias Nyamlel Wako as Deputy International Cooperation Minister.

President Kiir issued a second decree appointing a four-member committee headed by the Chairperson of Anti Corruption Commission, Justice John Gatwich Lul, to investigate the break-in at the Office of the President between March15 and 23.

The committee will investigate three officials from the Office of the President who were suspended.

The three suspended officials include Chief Administrator Mayen Wol Jong, Excutive Director at the President’s office Yel Luol Koor and Controller of Accounts Nhomuot Agoth Cithiik.

President Kiir gave the committee 30 days to submit their findings.
