Tajura chief in the Heiban County, Nuba Mountains, called on the residents of his area who have left their homes to come back.
Hamad Fadul strongly appealed to a NGO operating in the area to assist with water and food for people to return home.The chief was talking at a celebration to mark the anniversary of the Tajura chapel.
Mr Fadul stressed that there is only one borehole serving the whole community of Tajura.
“A person takes one day to fetch a jerry can of water amid long queues,” he said.
Amad Amsura appreciated those who attended the celebration.
He asked them to present their suffering saying that many people in Tajura have been displaced by hunger.
The feast was organized by the Tajura youth for those who were baptized on Easter Day to celebrate their joy.
