Western Bahr El Ghazal Health Ministry said there was increase in health services delivery at Lokoloko Maternal unit.
Lokoloko Health Centre Supervisor, Rabha Elias Khalid, said a health unit evaluation report issued last week showed that women have realized the importance of maternal visits and delivery at the health units rather than at home, Voice of Hope reported. She said progress in the number of deliveries at the unit indicate that women should be encouraged to deliver at health units to minimize the maternal deaths.
Ms Rabha added that women in Lokoloko were facing difficulties to access the hospital due to lack of transport, and the centre was helping many women.
She said the health unit offers mother kits containing napkins in order to encourage mothers to deliver at the health centre.
