South Sudan Records 96.4% Pass Rate in 2025 P8 National Examinations

The Minister of General Education and Instruction, Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, alongside his technical team, visited President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Friday, February 27, 2026, and revealed that 96.4 percent of candidates who sat for the 2025 South Sudan Primary Education Certificate (P8) examinations have successfully passed.

A total of 84,506 pupils sat for the national examinations. Of these, 45,427 were male candidates; 39,079 were female candidates.

According to the Minister, the overall performance reflects significant progress in the country’s primary education sector despite ongoing challenges affecting the education system.

The official release of the 2025 P8 examination results is expected this week.

Upon receiving the report, Salva Kiir Mayardit congratulated the candidates who successfully passed, commending their determination and resilience amid difficulties confronting the nation’s education sector.

President Kiir directed the Ministry to proceed with the official public announcement of the 2025 P8 results next week. He emphasized that the timely release of results is critical to ensuring a smooth transition of successful candidates into secondary school during the ongoing first academic term.

The President noted that prompt action would help maintain continuity in the academic calendar and minimize disruption to learners nationwide.

The Government of South Sudan reaffirmed its commitment to universal primary education, underscoring the importance of expanding access to learning opportunities for all children.

President Kiir further encouraged the Ministry to sustain its efforts to strengthen the education system and ensure that no learner is left behind.
