In a series of presidential decrees announced tonight, the President of South Sudan relieved several senior government officials and appointed new leaders to key economic positions.

Those relieved of their duties include Monica Achol as Presidential Envoy to the Middle East, Barnaba Bak as Minister of Finance, William Anyuol as Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority, and Rou Ayii as Deputy Commissioner General of the same institution.

In the new appointments, Salvatore Garang Mabiordit has been named Minister of Finance. Monydeng Abet has been appointed Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority, while Solomon Arik takes over as Deputy Commissioner General.

The changes affect critical institutions responsible for the country’s financial management and revenue collection, signaling a significant reshuffle within the economic sector.
