Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has directed the Juba County Commissioner, Emmanuel Tete Ezbon, to restore full security in Rokon Payam following recent violent clashes between cattle herders and farmers.

The clashes, which occurred in Mirikiyo Boma, resulted in casualties and the displacement of residents. The directive was issued on Thursday, 29 January 2026, after Governor Adil received a detailed security briefing from the State Security Adviser, Hon. Angelo Daya, alongside the Juba County Commissioner.

Governor Adil assured the public that the state government is taking decisive measures to restore peace and stability in the affected areas. He urged residents to remain calm and patient as authorities work to contain the situation and hold those responsible for the violence accountable.

The Governor also called on displaced residents to return to their homes, particularly as preparations for the upcoming farming season begin. He further instructed that humanitarian assistance be extended to vulnerable populations affected by the violence, which he attributed to negative elements operating in the area.

Meanwhile, a security assessment team led by the State Security Adviser reported that relative calm has been restored in Mirikiyo Boma following the deployment of security forces. The team added that a joint visit by the Commissioners of Juba and Terekeka counties played a significant role in stabilizing the situation.
