The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong Lojore, has dismissed the Magwi County Commissioner, Pole Pole Benjamin Olum, through a gubernatorial decree issued on Monday, January 12, 2026.
In the same decree, the governor appointed Lam Francis Gabriel as the Caretaker Commissioner for Magwi County. Lam Francis Gabriel will serve in an interim capacity as the state government prepares for further administrative arrangements for the county.
Meanwhile, former Commissioner Pole Pole Benjamin Olum, in a Facebook post, congratulated Lam Francis Gabriel on his appointment. He wished him success in his new role and expressed his support for a smooth leadership transition.
Lam Francis Gabriel was sworn in by Governor Louis Lobong Lojore on the morning of January 13, 2026, in Torit. He is expected to officially assume office with immediate effect.
