The Ministry of General Education and Instruction in Western Equatoria State has announced new registration fees for Primary Eight candidates for the 2025 national examinations.
According to the Director of Examinations, Charles Ikpiro, candidates from government, community, and faith-based schools will pay 100,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP), while those in private schools will pay 150,000 SSP.
Ikpiro emphasized that all candidates must have completed the required eight years of primary education—or four years under the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP)—to qualify. He urged candidates to register using four full names, warning that those with only three names will have their registration cancelled.
“Examination fees for Public/Government Schools, Community Schools and faith-based schools is one hundred thousand SSP… for private schools is one hundred and fifty thousand SSP per candidate.”
He also instructed county education directors to submit completed registration forms along with fees by September 1, 2025, and warned schools against charging extra fees beyond what was announced.
The new fees reflect a significant increase from 2024, when public school candidates paid 5,000 SSP and private school candidates paid 7,000 SSP.
