The long-awaited Senior Four examination results for candidates who sat in 2024 will be released within two weeks, the National Minister of General Education and Instruction, Hon. Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, has announced.

Dr. Kuyok made the disclosure during a briefing with Her Excellency Josephine Lagu Yanga, Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan and Chairperson of the Service Cluster, on Tuesday, 5th August. The meeting focused on the status of national examinations, particularly the unprecedented delay in releasing Senior Four results.

The Minister assured the Vice President that the Ministry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of South Sudan, has now secured the necessary resources to finalize the examination process. He extended an apology on behalf of the Ministry for the delay and reaffirmed their commitment to preventing such occurrences in the future.

During the briefing, Dr. Kuyok also announced that the government leadership has approved a proposal by the National Examination Council to introduce a fee for examination registration. This initiative aims to address the logistical challenges of conducting national examinations, which have intensified due to a steady increase in candidate numbers—a positive indicator of educational progress in the country.

Registration for the Primary Eight examinations will commence soon, with official directives to be dispatched to state education officials. Funds raised from the registration fees will be channeled directly towards supporting the administration of these examinations.

Vice President Josephine Lagu Yanga emphasized the critical need for uninterrupted delivery of education services and directed the Ministry of General Education to ensure the academic calendar proceeds without further disruptions. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the Ministry’s initiatives to strengthen South Sudan’s education system.

This engagement highlights the government’s dedication to improving educational outcomes and delivering essential public services to the people of South Sudan.
