The Sudan and South Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference has appointed Rev. Bro. Bruno Dada as the new Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of South Sudan for the academic year 2025–2026, beginning September 1, 2025, for a five-year term.
In a formal letter, Cardinal Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla, Chancellor of the university and President of the Bishops’ Conference, tasked Bro. Bruno with preserving the university’s Catholic identity and promoting academic and spiritual growth.
“Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the University continues to uphold its Catholic identity, foster academic excellence, and contribute to the intellectual and spiritual development of its students,” Cardinal Ameyu wrote.
Referencing the Catholic Code of Canon Law, he emphasized the need to appoint individuals of virtue and academic merit, particularly those holding doctoral or licentiate degrees from Holy See-recognized institutions.
“We anticipate that your leadership will strengthen academic programs, foster a vibrant intellectual community, and ensure fidelity to Catholic principles.”
The official handover date will be communicated and supervised by Bishop Christian Carlassare, Chairperson of the Commission for Catholic Education.
Br. Bruno A. Dada, PhD, previously served as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the same institution.
