Western Bahr El Ghazal’s Governor Emmanuel Primo Ukello has warned that youth-related violence and tribalism pose serious threats to peace in Western Bahr el Ghazal State.

Speaking at a civil society-led peace dialogue, the governor urged community members and parents to guide youth away from violence.

“These activities are being carried out by our own children. I call on families and civil society to respond constructively.”

He identified tribal discrimination as another obstacle to peace and emphasized the importance of unity.

“We must fight tribalism in all its forms. Unity and cooperation are the way forward. Peaceful dialogue is essential for sustained security. We all have a role to play.”

The governor concluded by calling for shared responsibility among citizens, leaders, and institutions in advancing peace and development across South Sudan.
