Two people have been reported killed in Iteuso Village, Ikwoto County, following a violent confrontation linked to a bride price dispute.

According to Odongi Joseph, the Paramount Chief of Ikwoto County, the incident occurred when four youths from Ngaluma followed their in-law to Etauso Village to collect a bride price. They were ambushed by unknown gunmen around 4:00 p.m., resulting in two fatalities.

“I urge both communities to refrain from revenge. Let the law take its course,” Chief Odongi said in an interview with Radio Emmanuel.

He also called on residents to focus on agriculture and abandon practices that disturb peace and stability in the county.
