UNMISS peacekeepers from India have completed the reconstruction of the 60-kilometer Malakal–Akoka route in Upper Nile State.

This vital road collapsed last year due to heavy rains, isolating the communities of Akoka. The rehabilitation of this route will significantly improve transportation and the delivery of supplies to civilians, humanitarian organizations, and peacekeepers in the region.

The road is essential for access to resources and services for the people of Akoka and surrounding areas, making the successful completion of this project a critical achievement for UNMISS engineers.
