The National Ministry of General Education and Instruction has announced that the marking of the Primary Eight final examination for the year 2024 started on Monday, March 3, 2025.

Deputy Minister Martin Tako explained that the marking was delayed due to a lack of resources and the necessary funding needed to facilitate the process.

However, last month, the Director of Examinations, Simon Nyok stated that the Ministry of General Education had requested 7 billion SSP to cover the marking of both the Certificate of Primary Education and the Certificate of Secondary Education for 2024.

The National Ministry of General Education has announced that it has received 2 billion SSP from the Ministry of Finance as a start-up for the marking of Primary Eight and Senior Four examinations.

He added that the ministry will continue engaging with the Ministry of Finance to secure the remaining 5 billion SSP.

“The money we have received is not enough, it’s just an amount that will enable us to begin the work,” said Nyok.
