The Catholic Diocese of Torit has officially launched its Jubilee Year for 2025, themed Pilgrims of Hope. The celebration aims to promote peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness among the faithful.
Bishop Emmanuel Bernardino Lowi Napeta of Torit encouraged Christians to remain hopeful, reminding them that everyone is called to serve God in different ways.
“Today, we celebrate the Jubilee of Hope, a year when we are called to be hopeful people,” said Bishop Napeta, also noting that the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord celebrated on February 2, is dedicated to all consecrated persons.
The bishop acknowledged the human tendency to sin but urged the faithful to seek strength from Jesus.
He emphasized the need for reconciliation, urging individuals to forgive one another and build peace, starting with their families.
