The bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wau has stated that raising children involves more than providing them with good food; it also requires attentive care for their overall well-being. 

The appeal was made while giving a homily to the congregation at St. Mary Cathedral on the celebration of the Epiphany of the Lord Jesus,

His Lordship Matthew Remijio Adam urged parents to spend quality time with their children to foster close relationships.

Remijio Adam stressed the importance of guiding children on life skills and nurturing them properly.

He noted that some mothers mistakenly believe that providing nutritious meals is sufficient for their children’s upbringing.

“However, children might be missing out on vital aspects of their growth during this time,” the bishop adds.

H.L. Matthew Remijo advocated for giving children freedom of expression within the family and community, citing that it will help them discover their unique talents.

He called on parents to pray for their children and support them at every stage of their lives, ensuring they grow well.

He highlighted the role of parents in preparing their children for a better future by offering sound advice because these children are the future leaders of the country.

The Catholic bishop H.L. Matthew Remijio Adam concluded by recapping the importance of raising children with freedom of expression and love, emphasizing that by nurturing them well, parents are laying the foundation for the leaders of tomorrow.
