The South Sudan National Elections Commission has officially launched its website to enable the public and journalists to follow and report accurate information regarding elections to the grassroots across the country.
According to the chairperson of NEC, the website aimed to inform the public on election-related activities.
Speaking during the launching, the Chairperson National Election Commission Hon. Abednego Akok Kacuol says the website is one of the big achievements of the NEC which will help the public to access all the activities the body is going about in the 2026 elections.
“We have a priority like what we have done now which is a big achievement for the commission and for South Sudan to have a website right now.”
Abednego calls on the media to connect with other parts of the world to access and report accurate information that is posted in the official website of the NEC.
He highlights the importance of the media during the elections, citing that the media’s role is very important in reporting on the activities of the elections so that the public can get what is happening.
“The media, keep on with this spirit, the media’s role in elections is very big and important and we will always be in touch with you because the public needs to hear what the commission is doing about the elections.”
This is the time for all of us to inform our political discussion on the plan we (NEC) are going to do as we hope for the general elections in December 2026, “NEC Chairperson stated.”
He adds that his office has a plan to bring in media personnel to the office of NEC to make sure that the media get access to all the NEC activities taking place.
This website will help in carrying out civic education across the Country and worldwide to access the website at www.nec.gov.ss.
