The Sudanese Business Community officially launched its trade exhibition in Juba on December 9th, 2024, at Freedom Hall.
The exhibition was organized by Grand Sudan Trade, Culture, and Tourism, an organization operating in South Sudan that focuses on fostering trade, cultural exchange, and tourism between Sudan and South Sudan.
The event brought together various business companies and traders from Sudan and South Sudan, intending to strengthen economic ties and promote mutual collaboration between the two nations’ business communities. The exhibition showcased a wide range of products and brands from both countries.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Rasha Elker, the head of Grand Sudan Trade, Culture, and Tourism. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the deep cultural and economic connection between the two countries, underscoring the importance of the exhibition in fostering business relationships and supporting women entrepreneurs.
“We are one people in two countries,” said Ms. Elker. “This is why we call it Grand Sudan Trade, Culture, and Tourism—to unite us all. We aim to promote business projects, empower women, and create opportunities for collaboration between Sudanese and South Sudanese businesses. This event is about building relationships and working together towards shared prosperity.”
Grand Sudan Trade, Culture, and Tourism is a Sudanese-owned organization based in South Sudan, dedicated to promoting business development, supporting women in business, and enhancing cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
As the exhibition continued throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to explore various products, network with business leaders, and explore potential partnerships that could strengthen the economic ties between Sudan and South Sudan. The event highlighted the growing importance of cross-border trade and cooperation in the region.
