President Kiir and Sudan’s Al-Burhan Hold Bilateral Talks in Juba

Sudan’s Sovereign Council Chairman, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived in Juba on Wednesday morning for bilateral discussions with South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir.

The talks are focused on strengthening relations between the two nations, with key issues on the agenda including border security, economic cooperation, oil resumption, and the final status of Abyei. Al-Burhan was accompanied by senior Sudanese officials, including Ministers of Foreign Affairs, National Security, Energy, and Mining.

Speaking during the meeting, President Kiir emphasized the importance of fostering strong ties between the neighboring countries.

“We are committed to deepening cooperation with Sudan for the benefit of both our peoples. These talks are an opportunity to address mutual challenges and explore ways to enhance our partnership.”
