Torit, Eastern Equatoria – Police in Torit are detaining a 50-year-old man accused of killing his 26-year-old son in Ginena Abuna near Hinetie River, Torit Town, on Wednesday evening.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as Peter Ocheng, reportedly used a bow and arrow to fatally wound his son, Emmanuel Loboi, in the chest, causing internal bleeding.
Major Justine Kleopas Takuru, a spokesperson for the police, confirmed the incident in an interview with Radio Emmanuel 89 FM on Thursday.
According to Takuru, the tragic incident followed a family dispute. Reports indicate that Ocheng had allegedly assaulted and sexually abused his wife, leaving her injured, before turning on his son.
The suspect, Ocheng, is currently held in police custody await trial.
