Sudan’s Sovereign Council Chief, and the nation’s military leader, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, arrived in Juba on Monday, September 16, 2024.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit this morning received Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, who arrived in Juba for crucial bilateral discussions.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramadan Abdalla Mohammed Goc highlighted that the two leaders are set to address pressing issues impacting both countries.

The Minister said discussions are focused on enhancing regional peace and stability through constructive dialogue and cooperation.

Al-Burhan arrived in South Sudan two days after Juba pushed its long-delayed elections by another two years, “underscoring the challenges facing the country’s fragile peace process,” according to a statement released by Kiir’s office.
