The Good Shepherd Peace Centre, owned by the Catholic Church in South Sudan, is a serene retreat in Kit, Rajaf Payam.

Just 10 kilometers from the bustling capital of Juba, the center offers a peaceful environment for those seeking spiritual renewal, reflection, or simply an escape from the pressures of daily life.

Rev. Sister Catherine Akello of the Sacred Heart, who manages the center, describes it as an oasis of calm where individuals can reconnect with themselves and their faith.

“The Good Shepherd Peace Centre offers a perfect blend of tranquility and spiritual nourishment, far removed from the noise and distractions of the city,” she said.

The beautifully landscaped grounds provide a peaceful setting, making it an ideal destination for personal reflection, prayer, and meditation.

Nestled in Kit Village along Lobonok Road, the center’s natural surroundings contribute to the sense of inner peace that visitors experience.

“The serene environment enhances the spiritual journey for all who come here, whether they seek solace, contemplation, or renewal of their spiritual energy,” Sr. Akello added. The location is perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature, with its greenery, fresh air, and calming atmosphere.

The Good Shepherd Peace Centre not only caters to those in search of spiritual enrichment but also welcomes tourists, pilgrims, and retreat groups. It is equipped with modern amenities that complement the spiritual experience.

Visitors can enjoy comfortable accommodations, consistent solar-powered energy, and access to a fully equipped conference hall, ideal for hosting workshops, training sessions, and spiritual seminars.

This combination of spirituality and modern convenience makes the center a unique destination for individuals and groups alike.

Sr. Akello encouraged both locals and international visitors to consider the Good Shepherd Peace Centre as a retreat destination.

“Whether you’re here for prayer, reflection, or just to enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings, this place offers a sanctuary where one can find true peace of mind,” she emphasized.

The center aims to foster an environment where people can disconnect from the distractions of the modern world and reconnect with their inner selves.

With its inviting atmosphere, spiritual significance, and strong connection to nature, the Good Shepherd Peace Centre continues to serve as a vital space for peace and renewal in South Sudan.
