A political analyst and lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Bahr el Ghazal in Wau, has called on the South Sudanese government to swiftly intervene and resolve the growing land disputes across the country.

Joseph Lual Dario emphasized that while citizens are ready for the upcoming elections, several obstacles remain, including the disorganization of the army, the lack of a population census, and ongoing land seizures by neighboring countries.

He criticized the government for failing to take decisive action to defend South Sudan’s territorial integrity.

“The government must declare a state of emergency to mobilize the army and defend the country’s land,” Dario stated, urging immediate action to safeguard national interests.

He further stressed the importance of patriotism, calling on the government to protect the citizens, natural resources, and state land from external threats.

“Resolving the issue of South Sudan’s land must be the government’s top priority,” he added.

Joseph Lual Dario shared these remarks during an interview with Voice of Hope Radio on Tuesday.
