The three newly appointed Commissioners of Central Equatoria State have on Monday sworn in with a call from the governor to create political space among the parties.

Speaking during the swearing-in, the governor of Central Equatoria State Augustino Jaddala Wani stated that he has received letters from parties who want to go to the counties to register their parties.

Governor Jaddala Wain urges the County Commissioners not to prevent any party from doing its activities on the ground because people need democracy.

“Those colleagues who will be going to the counties, don’t categorize them, welcome them, we are in a democracy. Democratically I have seen many letters coming to my office. Anyone wants to go for registration of his or her party in the counties, not private ones. We are in a time of democracy, which needs anyone to go and play his or her role and it is very important.”

He calls on the new commissioners not to isolate themselves from others to build Unity and togetherness.

“Togetherness will bring strong Unity, don’t isolate yourself. Don’t turn your back when eating, but eat when your face is out of the house.”

“There is high expectation from your people to save them, as you go to take your seats, many issues are waiting for you, for you to get your seats, make sure security must be the first,” the Governor urges.

Wani appeals to the new commissioners to open doors for their people to access them at all times.

“Those who are living in your counties, you are responsible for their security,” Governor Jaddala adds.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the Central Equatoria State Assembly Right Honorable Peter Wani appeals to the commissioners to deliver services to their people.

“My message to the commissioners of three counties is that, this is a tasks given to you and when you go to the ground, the counties you are in you represent first of all the president, number 2 you also represent the governor of Central Equatoria State, our eyes will be looking for your performance. What we want from you, is to deliver the services to your people.”

The speaker believes that with the new commissioners, there will be good development and security that they are going to save.

On behalf of the new commissioners, the Commissioner of Yei County Emmanuel Taban appreciates the governor of Central Equatoria State for allowing them to save their people.

Taban calls on the governor to support them in teams of security stability in the counties to calm the situation of insecurity.

“It’s the hight time for us to made our rest, if you go around South Sudan, it’s only in Equatoria, and particularly Central Equatoria where the civilians are still suffering. Your Excellence what we want from you is only the support, especially in teams of security stability in the counties. If we manage to calm the situation in the counties, then we will have a sleepy night.”

Three new commissioners for Yei River, Lainya, and Morobo counties in Central Equatoria State were sworn into office on Monday afternoon at a ceremony presided over by Governor Augustino Jadallah Wani.

Last week, President Salva Kiir Mayardit relieved the commissioners of the three counties of their duties and appointed Emmanuel Taban Seme, for Yei River County, Robert John Morris Lasu, for Lainya, and Charles Tata Bullen for Morobo.
