The Primary Health Care Centre under Catholic Diocese of Torit in Magwi County has reported lack of clean water supply and electricity affecting the theatre services.
Dr. Ochongodok John hinted that the absence of water and electricity has affected the smooth running of the operative procedure of the newly constructed theatre in Magwi.
He calls on the administration of the Catholic Diocese of Torit to renovate the staff rooms as sson as possible since they also lack accommodation rooms.
“generally for us to start working in this theatre at least, we need to have the water system working such that we can be able to run the procedures in the theatre generally the water and the electricity issue is a big concern, and the staffing so those are the few concerns our staff quarter here yes, we have the structures but most of the structures have broken down they need renovation such that, we should have the staff been in the compound such that if there is any other emergency people can easily come near the place.”
Dr.Ochongodok stated that the facility is also faced with limited number of staff working in the facility and calls for recruitment of more volunteers in the facility for it to operate 24 hours.
“Based on the challenges that we have as per here our staffing is still a big challenge am calling upon the church if possible,we can add more volunteers in certain areas , certain departments such that we can have it operating twenty-four seven let say the Laboratory we have only one Lab technician this one Lab technician with time as we are going to start procedures in the theatre, so this Lab technician may not serve as twenty four seven, so it will become a challenge because every person who will undergo surgery before the procedure is taken as part of pre-operative preparation other Lab investigation has to be done like the blood group of this patient the screening for other infection.”
The medical doctor made the remarks in a meeting with the Bishop of the catholic diocese of Torit in Magwi.
