The Governor of Eastern Equatoria state is telling developmental partners and UN Agencies to render Humanitarian and other developmental services to the vulnerable population in the state.

Hon. Louis Lobong Lojore challenged the NGOs for not providing enough support to the suffering communities.

Lobong urges partners to share challenges hindering them from delivering needed services to the Locals on the ground for the government to support.

“Avoid duplication of work if we are here to address challenges in this state, let us go where there are challenges, if there are some problems such as insecurity or bad roads.”

“We want to reach where exactly where there is need and let us all evaluate our achievements to know what is the impacts what goes to the people, we must see a change from what we are doing and it must be realized by people are supporting,” Lobong said.

Hon. Lobong calls on the agricultural partners to examine the rate of food production in the region and introduce communities to different varieties of crops.

He says such a method will increase food harvest and address starvation in South Sudan.

The eastern Equatoria state Number One Citizen tells clusters to review their work plan to increase the level of basic services to save communities.

“let us change this community cultivating one type of crop to increase food production by because food is one of the main challenge in south Sudan, we still import it from outside the country, so each cluster will have to tell us about their progress by how many percent tangible things we want to see.”

While Gie Griffin the UN head of field office in Torit says they visit farm sites in grass roots and provide them with agricultural assistance for a good harvest.

Griffin stressed that it is a collective responsibility of the state authorities’ civil society and the UN to commit themselves to improving the state.

“We all cannot agree that the ongoing works are not enough, but we can all acknowledge that works that are ongoing are being completed. Just 26000 metric tons of food supplied to schools, are just interested.

These came during the NGO state forum held in Torit.
