The Director General of Wau Teaching Hospital in western Bhar-el-Ghazal, Dr. James Angelo is calling on the public to abide by the health measures against the current high heat wave

Angelo says the health advisory is important for people to maintain body temperature in cold places.

He explained that people must take enough water per day, stay in a cool place or under shade, and should avoid random movement when the sun is too hot.

“Nevertheless, people should not stay in dirty places neither should they drink unclean water otherwise this may lead to various diseases,” Angelo adds.

He also encourages people to report to the nearest health facility if they feel a high body temperature (or have a fever).

James emphasizes the inclusivity of the elderly people and the people with chronic diseases on these health measures citing that they will be at risk if they are not taken good care of when the temperature is too high.

The director general Dr. James Angelomade these remarks to Voice of Hope radio at his office in Wau.
