The State Ministry of Health and Environment in Western Bhar el Gazal has reported that more than one hundred thousand children below 5 years old have received polio vaccination.
Dr. James Ambrose Ucin explains that an estimated 70,000 male children and 60,000 female children were reportedly being vaccinated in the state.
He reveals that the vaccination campaign targeted all three counties of Western Bhar el gazal state for four days.
Ambrose points out that they face some challenges during the vaccination campaign where some families refuse their children to be vaccinated.
However the ministry played its role in reaching out to solve all sorts of challenges, he adds.
This was considered to be the first face of polio vaccination and the second face is expected to commence on the 26th of March 2024.
