The national Oil and Gas company; Nile Petroleum Corporation (NilePet) has inaugurated a nine-stored head office complex in Juba under the theme; of peace and stability for sustainable development.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Vice President Taban Deng Gai, and other senior government officials witnessed the historic launch of NilePet’s first highly-cost infrastructure in the country.
The Managing Director of NilePet, Eng. Benard Amuor Makeny said the building will help the Oil and Gas Corporation to effectively do their work.
He adds that peace is a dividend that promotes the development of the country.
“We need to put our country on the world map and to young people out there, sell our country image as you can with hard work, integrity, resilience and of course loyalty for the country,’ Eng. Amuor said.
The Former Managing Director of NilePet Doctor Chol Thon who was among the pioneers of this historic building said the building cost 27 million United States Dollars and the money is purely from the government of South Sudan
Doctor Chol explained that NilePet will be able to secure a loan from International partners through its newly inaugurated infrastructure.
He said part of the building is to be used to generate income through rental to NilPet Subsidiaries as part of revenue generation.
“Today marked a momentous occasion to open the NilePet office. The building started in 2018 for the first quarter. The significance of the building is to become a hub for companies to meet. It will encourage the other government institutions to make representative offices that can change the face of South Sudan,” he said.
Dr. Chol further said the building is constructed to last for 100 years.
The inauguration took place at the Buluk area in Juba under the theme,” Peace and Stability for Sustainable Development, the event was commissioned by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
