Internally Displaced Camp in Wau

Internal Displaces Peoples (IDPs) in the Naivasha camp in Western Bahr el Ghazal State on Wednesday said that because they do not have any land they have been forced to remain in the IDP camp despite numerous challenges facing them.

The displaced person say they don’t have a place to stay and because they are unable to rent houses in the areas they have decided to stay in the camp.

Some mention that they have relatives but their relatives are not accepting them to stay with them due to the deterioration of the Economic situation and most of them have families with children.

‘‘Fighting brought me to the camp and I have five children their father has died and I don’t have the ability to rent a house so that I settle down with my children’’

They point out that, they have one year and a half without feeding but with a small business, they do they can survive with their children.

IDPs add that, the government promised them some lands but still yet to be relocated to the Promised Land.

They reveal that people used to insult them for staying in the camp but their reasons for staying in the camp are bigger than the way the community outside sees them.

Local authorities in Wau is yet respond on their claims.
