Christians gathered to pay their last respect to Rev. Fr Joseph Ukello Yala during a requiem mass at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral on Saturday morning in Torit.
Fr Joseph Ukello Yala died in December at Juba Medical Complex after battling with malaria, cough, Diabetes, and hypertension.
Fr. Ukello is described as a crucial and radical man because he follows his Motto, “Let your yes mean yes, and your no mean no, anything from these comes from the evil one (Mt 5:37)”
The parish Priest at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral says the late Ukello maintains his principle of truth and reflection of the attitudes to give services to the people.
Church leaders tell the faithful to understand that death unites people and is not a final destiny for Christians.
The Bishop of Torit Catholic Diocese, Emmanuel Benerdino Lowi Napeta stated that though the late Joseph Ukello has gone ahead, he left a legacy behind.
He says the diocese has celebrated many lives of great people and asks the believers to copy the lifestyle of the late Rev. Fr. Joseph Okello.
