The Director for Emergency Call Center known as 112 in Western Bahr el State discloses that they have apprehended 40 suspected members of gangs in Wau.
Peter Mangang says the suspects were arrested during security joined force in Wau they targeted places of gang groups and apprehended 37 boys and 3 girls in connection with gangs’ activities.
He says that those who are not associated with gang activities will be released after investigation.
Peter Mangang adds that arrested gang members will be taken to court for trial for all the charges.
He requests to the people of Wau to cooperate with the police to eradicate such deeds in the residential area.
Mangang emphasizes that; the emergency call center will continue to apprehend those who are causing threats to the people in the state.
Mayor of municipal council Paulino Saied Uku appreciates the work done by the emergency call center for maintaining security in Wau.
Saied Uku says that the municipal council is facing difficulty in identifying gang members and artists due to their similarities.

However, the Mayor of Torit Municipal Council Mustafa Albino Zacharia also announced to crackdown on criminal gang groups threatening peace in the area.
In an interview with Radio Emmanuel, he revealed that the fight that took place on Monday was between two gang groups from Ifwanyak and Inkas. He categorically described the two groups as the ones disturbing the town.
Last year, the mayor of Torit Municipal Council reached an agreement with eighteen gang groups to end the chaos.
Albino stated that no arrest was made during the fight that took place between the two gang groups.
