Catholic Church has applauded hundreds of youths who attended the youth congress in Tonj for being energetic and proactive during the event.
The three-day youth conference concluded with a call for the closeness of young people to church ministries in the diocese of Rumbek.
The Western Deanery Dean, Fr. Alfred Oduo hopes that the youth congress conducted has enriched spiritually the young people.
He says such an initiative could be much better with the help of the skills learned fellow in the church.
Fr. Oduo further explained that the congress happened at the right time were youth are approaching into the New Year.
He says young people are now equipped spiritually and he also appreciates the organizers for making the program possible.
Fr Joseph Mou, the newly appointed St. Stephen parish priest of Thiet also expressed thankfulness to the youth who were in Congress for the overwhelming commitment they showed.
He encouraged the youth to continue with the same spirit that will make people have strong faith in Christ.
Fr. Mou said such initiative are good response from the young people in the society, South Sudan would be a blessed country and good things will come.
The youth congress that started on the 27th of this month came to an end on Friday after five parishes in the western deanery gathered in Tonj’s sacred heart.
Youth congress is an annual event in the diocese of Rumbek and this happens to be the 13th after being conducted last year in Rumbek.
