The Bishop of Rumbek Catholic Dioece, Christian Carlassere during his pastoral visit to Western denary at Thiet Payam of Tonj South County describes the love and togetherness with different communities as a “realization of God’s present among his people.’’
Bishop of the catholic diocese of Rumbek traveled to Thiet on Saturday, to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in Tonj South County of Warrap state.
He revealed that the visit to Thiet parish was to celebrate Christmas with the communities and erection of a new parish titled “Stephen” which was announced on 26th Dec 2023 in Thiet Payam.
Bishop Christian appreciated the community members and the Salesian community of Don Bosco’s mission for drawing the community closer to the word of God and as they remain united in prayers.
Father Luka Dor on his part appeals to the community to acknowledge the presence of His Lordship Carlassere as part of sharing the message of peace and unity.
He said that Warrap is the luckiest state because is being taken care of by both dioceses of Rumbek and Wau.
Father Luka Dor states that it’s a great blessing for the people of Warrap state to celebrate Christmas in the presence of the bishop in their midst.
He reveals that His Lordship will announce Thiet as a parish on 26th December 2023 which will make the Catholic diocese of Rumbek make a total of 17 Parishes.
