A prominent Catholic Church leader Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako, speaking to Christians in Torit.

The Emeritus Cardinal of the Catholic Archdiocese of Khartoum paid a visit to Grinti Army headquarters after he was invited by the Fifth Infantry Division Commander to be part of the morning parade.

His Emeritus Gabriel Cardinal Zubier Wako during his speech to the soldiers on the parade reminds soldiers of their dignity and reputation in the society as they serve to protect and defend people and South Sudan as a country.

Gabriel Cardinal Zubier Wako reminded soldiers that God sent his son Jesus for them and their dignity and reputation is important to be observed because that dignity is given to them by God.

“I want to remind you all from the junior officer to the senior officer, don’t forget yourselves and don’t forget about your responsibility of protecting the country and its people because God is the one who sends you for the mission,” the Cardinal highlighted.

His Eminence Wako said that soldiers should know that they are very important in South Sudan because they have sacrificed their own lives for other people and for the country.

“And if you know that you are important before God I should be important to the people and deserve every respect to be given to me as a soldier because I am ready to die for the dignity and reputation of my people and my country” the Emeritus Cardinal narrates.

The Fifth Infantry Commander Dau Aturjong appreciated His Eminence Gabriel Cardinal Zubier Wako for his good words describing them as pious words.

He described the words from the Cardinal as words of an elder and a person of God that the Holy Spirit speaks through therefore soldiers should take them seriously.

The leaders made these remarks to Voice of Hope radio at the Army Headquarters in Grinti.
