The Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Juba Diocese has appealed to citizens in Saint Mary Help of Christians to abandon hatred, tribalism and discrimination and to work for the sake of healing and reconciliation in the society and country as whole.

His Eminence Stephen Cardinal Ameyu Martin Mulla said we need peace but peace cannot just prevail when we hate and discriminate against each other in the community and country as whole.

“Peace cannot come like that until we abandon hatred, tribalism and discrimination and because of those morals we have destroyed our beloved country just because of tribalism,” he stated.

His Eminence Stephen Ameyu tasked the faithful, christians’ community and South Sudanese to work in order to bring reconciliation among people in South Sudan.

Dr. Ameyu further added that, “I have hope in you South Sudanese that you are the light for peace, unity and reconciliation in South Sudan”.

“We as a community have the mandate to work for the sake of peace in our country without any hesitation” he further adds.

His Eminence made these remarks to the faithful in Saint Mary Help of Christian’s Parish in Wau.
