For the past two days, residents of Tonj South County have been feeling uneasy because of the appearance of stray, aggressive dogs in their town.
Unfortunately, 25 people have been reported as injured and are currently receiving treatment at the Indeed and Truth Ministries Hospital.
This is the first time that the hospital has had to treat so many dog bite victims in just two days.
Marko Malok Abuok, who vaccinates dogs against rabies at the hospital, reported four new cases on Friday morning.
“The previous day, I registered six cases of dogs bites, and yesterday I received 15 people of the same incident and this morning, I received more five people,” he stated.
Doctor Malok added that all the cases are minor except two people with complications.
Malok stated that a teenager boy was having muscles complication at his arm, while a woman was having too much bleeding, but their situation currently is clam.
He said, “All the cases are minor except two of the patients; one boy and one woman that had some complications in the arm muscles.”
Doctor explained that children, women and elders are the most people victimized from dog bites.
He advises the community to take care of vulnerable people and themselves from any disaster.
