The Juba City Council has officially banned the dumping of garbage and waste on the city’s roads.

This order is a public pronouncement to ensure that everyone is aware of and follows the rule.

Acting Mayor Emmanuel Khemis issued a Public Order on Thursday, which requires businesses and residences to collect and manage their waste and garbage on site.

They must also inform the Quarter Council of transportation arrangements.

The Order requires that every quarter, the council must identify and set up garbage collection points within seven days.

Businesses and residences are required to maintain a clean environment within a 20-meter radius of their premises. Failure to do so may result in fines being imposed.

The authorities in Juba have ordered all block, quarter councils, and security organs to ensure that the Public Order Units established at each quarter council enforce the orders.
