St. Theresa Cathedral has a rich history of music ministry, with several choirs that focus on singing hymnody, sacred polyphony, and other great choir works in both Latin and English.

The church is named after St. Theresa of Lisieux, a French Carmelite nun who is well-known throughout the world.

While she is not known for her musical abilities, many other saints were instrumentalists, vocalists, and composers, and whose friendship and intercession can encourage those among us who seek to use our musical gifts to glorify God.

The St. Theresa English Service Choir was founded in 1976 by a group of young people who wanted to sing in English.

Early this month, St. Joseph’s English Choir of the Archdiocese of Juba also celebrated its golden jubilee at St. Joseph’s Parish, marking its 50 years in service to the Lord.
